TARA LAWSON had a flair for design and art from a young age and started making her own jewellery from the age of 15. Tara completed a visual merchandising degree before she decided she wanted to travel the world. Upon leaving Australia, she started her professional jewellery career as an accessories designer in the heart of London. After nearly 4 years abroad Tara decided to come back to her roots in Australia.

Once Tara returned, she worked for Mimco and Samantha Wills for a number of years where she learnt invaluable experience in the fashion, business & creative world. What she learnt in these years gave her the passion & drive to start TARA LAWSON JEWELLERY in late 2010.

Having recently undertaken another silver smithing course in Engineering Technology of Jewellery at the well renowned NMIT college, Tara discovered her true ability and aesthetics for her jewellery. Having been born to a half Japanese, half Irish mother and an Australian father, Tara discovered she had been drawn to the simplistic & intelligent Japanese design ethos.

She aims to capture functional, minimal-with-an-edge, architectural & individual design through her jewellery with the intent that her customers can see that each piece is lovingly hand made by Tara and her team for the customer to enjoy for a life time.

Tara’s collections strive to emulate part of her character through enthusiasm and passion, individuality and creativity and  by not following specific trends but merely creating jewellery for the love and inspiration of a particular moment, object or feeling.

Tara’s work has been featured in Yen, Cleo, Marie Claire, Grazia, & Russh among others as well as collaborating recently with RES Denim and soon to be featured on the ‘Dreamers & Creators’ campaign for Qantas airlines.
